Room Lead (Toddlers) – Barley Wood Nursery, Wrington

If you’re an enthusiastic practitioner who is passionate about providing children with the best experiences and foundation in their early years and enjoy working as part of a busy team then, this is the role for you.

Our setting is unique, the Nursery is at the heart of a Grade 2 listed Country Manor estate surrounded by 18 acres of park, gardens and woodlands. This gives children limitless possibilities to explore and learn, through a play based curriculum which focuses upon being outdoors.

What will the role of Room Lead entail?

As the Room Lead for toddlers, you will be a key member of the Barley Wood Nursery management team taking a hands-on approach to overseeing the day to day care of the children aged 2-3.

You’ll use your enthusiasm and knowledge to ensure a nurturing, stimulating and consistent environment for all the children we care for.

This is an exciting, dynamic and varied role which will see you working closely alongside the Nursery Manager to increase the outcomes and learning for the children and the quality of the service available to families.

What will I need to be considered for this Room Lead vacancy?

• An empathy for and enjoyment of working with children
• Hold a level 3 or above relevant childcare qualification
• At least 2 years’ experience of working with children under the age of 5
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to train)
• Working knowledge of effective safeguarding practice
• If possible some experience of managing or supervising staff
• Solid IT skills
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills

This is not your average Early Years setting and you will need to be willing to go the extra mile as and when the business demands but in return you’ll be working in a

You’ll also benefit from the following;

Salary: £19,670 per annum.

Contract: Permanent, working 38 hours not including weekends. Start and finish times will vary in accordance with the operational needs of the Nursery.

PAWS Lead – Barley Wood Nursery, Wrington

Breakfast Club and Daycamps are delivered at Barley Wood, with the After School club delivered directly on the Wrington CofE Primary School site. The Barley Wood setting is unique, a Grade 2 listed Country Manor estate surrounded by 18 acres of park, gardens and woodlands. This gives children limitless possibilities to explore and learn, through a play based curriculum which focuses upon being outdoors.

What will the role of Room Lead entail? 

As the Lead for PAWS you will be a key member of the Barley Wood Nursery management team taking a hands-on approach to overseeing the day to day care of the children attending Breakfast and After School Club.

You’ll use your enthusiasm and knowledge to ensure a nurturing, stimulating and consistent environment for all the children we care for.

This is an exciting, dynamic and varied role which will see you working closely alongside the Nursery Manager to increase the outcomes and learning for the children and the quality of the service available to families.

What will I need to be considered for the PAWS Lead vacancy?

Early Years Practitioner

Various hours available

£8.05 – £8.28 per hour

Dependant on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities will include:  To provide opportunities for children to learn through play, utilising the outdoors as much as possible.  We provide a secure and stimulating environment where children can develop emotionally and intellectually as well as morally, physically, spiritually and socially, at their own pace.
